Keishla Soto-Sanchez LPC

Keishla believes her role as the therapist is to trust you as the expert of your own experience as she guides you through the therapeutic journey toward your goals. Keishla utilizes evidence based practices with an integrative and holistic approach by using a variety of methods. Some of these include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills, Family systems therapy, and others. Additionally, she is excited to offer all services in Spanish as she is a fluent native speaker.

Originally from Puerto Rico, she graduated from Eastern Washington University with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She started working in the mental health space as a job coach to adults with disabilities in 2015, then became a Registered Behavior Technician for a few years and received her Masters in Psychology with a focus on Clinical Counseling from The Citadel in 2022. Keishla is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). 

Keishla’s path to becoming a counselor has been shaped by her extensive background in ABA and the passion to find a way to fill the need to incorporate thoughts and emotions into ABA therapy. She specializes in working with children and adults diagnosed with developmental or intellectual disabilities as well as their families, but enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds. Her experience working with individuals and family systems on a variety of topics includes but is not limited to: navigating transitions in life, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, behavioral parent training, autism, ADHD, ODD, anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, trauma, stress, chronic illness and pain. Keishla is passionate about helping people of all ages with chronic illnesses navigate the difficulties that come along with managing an illness, the roadblocks in the medical system and supporting young adults transitioning into adulthood who are learning to take charge of their care for the first time. 

She promises to provide a safe space in which she will support you through affirming, culturally competent and trauma informed care.
